Bangalore Express Restaurant Interior by Outline

On Saturday, February 28, 2009
Outline , a London based design practice, created the interior for the Bangalore Express Indian Restaurant located opposite Waterloo Station in South London. From Outline: The client wanted a modern and fresh environment to serve their unique version of fast, Indian food. After discussions it became clear that what was required was a re-invention of a very British institution, the Indian curry house. Previously a Thai restaurant, Outline?s response was to strip the space back to its bas

I found Helen, aka ? Tartelette ?, on flickr one day somehow, I can?t remember, but I?m glad I did. Before I knew that a trained pastry chef was behind all the food in the images, I remember thinking that the food in was always way too perfect to be made at home. weekly wrap up + paws up

On Saturday, February 28, 2009
i wanted to end this week with an image that?s been in my head, and on my desktop, for a few weeks now. it?s one of the beautiful outdoor tents at paws up , a beautiful wilderness resort montana that i?m hoping will be the location of our honeymoon this year, budget and weather permitting. i?m not normally a huge outdoors girl, but i think anyone who lives in a city can agree that sometimes the most relaxing vacation is the one that politely forces you to disconnect from the rest of the world

Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD Review

On Saturday, February 28, 2009
The Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD one is a big surprise, with many attractive features ? not least being the reasonable asking price of $399. Basically, it?s a mini DSLR look-alike, nearly pocketable, with a 15x zoom lens, imaging to a CCD capable of acquiring 10.0 million pixels. In stills shooting, the camera uses an optical stabiliser; when shooting movies, a less desirable digital stabiliser is used. Samsung makes Memoirs with Helena Christensen

On Saturday, February 28, 2009
Filed under: Gear , Photos As of yesterday, the new Samsung Memoir is available through T-Mobile for $249. The Samsung Memoir has an 8-megapixel camera, along with Xenon flash, CMOS auto focus and a 16x digital zoom. That's pretty impressive. Secretly, that's almost as good as the regular camera I use. It would be really handy if my phone were my regular camera. I long for the day when we kiss the USB cord goodbye -- and I'd love not to have two similar-but-different things in my purse.

When composing a piece of artwork, we generally work with three elements: the frame, the positive space, and the negative space (also called white space). The frame is the bounding size of the artwork, the positive space is the subject, and the negative space is the empty space around the subject.

Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD Review

On Friday, February 27, 2009
The Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD one is a big surprise, with many attractive features ? not least being the reasonable asking price of $399. Basically, it?s a mini DSLR look-alike, nearly pocketable, with a 15x zoom lens, imaging to a CCD capable of acquiring 10.0 million pixels. In stills shooting, the camera uses an optical stabiliser; when shooting movies, a less desirable digital stabiliser is used. Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD Features Ten megapixels gives you access to a maximum image

SEO de Janeiro Recap

On Thursday, February 26, 2009
Last Friday I flew to Rio to attend the SEO de Janeiro event. Boy, it was wild! In this post I will try to create a recap for the whole thing. First thing planned on Friday was a pool party. The place rented for it was amazing. Basically it was a house built on top of a hill, so we had an incredible view of the Barra da Tijuca beach from there. Here is a glimpse of it (though my photography skills suck?). With an open bar and Brazilian barbecue, the pool party was fun. It was a good o

Redflex Missteps Hit the Bottom Line

While most companies are struggling to hold losses to a minimum in the current economic environment, the leading Australian provider of red light cameras and speed cameras yesterday reported explosive growth in its US operations. Redflex Traffic Systems collected 49.3 percent more in revenue from American motorists than it had pocketed six months ago. This strong performance, however, was offset by a series of blunders that converted what should have been a 26 percent increase in net profits aft

New Canon Snapshot Printer Can Fix Faces

On Thursday, February 26, 2009
Canon has announced a compact snapshot printer that it says pumps out 4-by-6-inch photos in about 47 seconds. The Selphy CP780 looks a lot like its predecessor, the CP760, but Canon also says it will deliver better quality prints. I haven?t seen output from the new model?it won?t be available until March?but the earlier Selphy CP760 handled color detail nicely and would be perfectly fine for casual photographers. Canon says the CP780 will yield better prints, especially portraits, thanks to new

5 Common photo slideshow mistakes

On Thursday, February 26, 2009
Online photo slideshows are an increasing popular tool by online news sites to illustrate news stories and showcase their best photography. Photo slideshow creators like Soundslides and other online alternatives make creating them easier, but not necessarily better. Here are some of the common pitfalls to avoid: 1. Too many or too few photos Too many photos crammed into one slideshow usually means each photo only appears for a second or two, barely enough time for the viewer to take each one
